This blog is a Jolly Jumble of Journaling by various members of our family. We each have our own unique interests and pursuits which we will be sharing here in writing and pictures. Lots of pictures. One thing we all have in common is a love of the awesome, magnificent beauty of Idaho. Even after 5 years of living here, we still take photos everywhere we go, besides chronicling our projects and doings. So – lots of pictures!
This blog was started to take the place of family newsletters for our distant family and friends to keep up with us, so rather than a personal journey, it’s one snapshot at a time from different viewpoints, capturing any moment one of us thinks is worth capturing. It’s the commonplace adventures (and some misadventures) of our western way of life, and the blessings of life as a large & varied family, grateful every day for God’s glorious grace in our lives.

Head of the clan – works in his home office in the Big House as a partner in a Pennsylvania business, and enjoys exploring Idaho in his free time.
Lisa
Mom
A born farmer, always with a ranching or housekeeping project on her mind. Queen of the Big House, she loves investing in her grandchildren and learning how to live graciously.
Myron “Dale” Jr.
Oldest Son
Married to Anna, lives in CO with his family of 5 children – Elizabeth, Johnny, Sharon, Susie, and Nancy. He has cosmopolitan interests, and makes a point of looking at life as an adventure.
Kristen (Stoltzfus) Clay
Oldest Daughter
Married to Dustin Clay, a local Idahoan. Lives in the Little House with her family of 2 children – Davy, and Betsy. Loves homemaking, vintage fashion and kitchen things, sewing & quilting, reading, and old movies. Works from home as a crochet designer.
Janna
Second Daughter
Loves history and old books, dainty needlework, writing letters, and playing her harp. Head housekeeper in the Big House – she is also chief gardener and keeper of the chickens.
Josiah
Second Son
A country boy who currently works in the city, he wrangles tires in Boise at Commercial Tire. Newly married to Alexandra, aka Alex. Loves hunting, riding, and working on project vehicles when he gets the chance.
Elsie
Third Daughter
Enjoys a challenge, whether it’s publishing music arrangements, making a detailed hand-sewn garment, or running an excavator. She is working on building up her registered shorthorn herd, and is often plunged deep into a book, learning a new technique, or doing something crazy out of doors.
Bobby
Third Son
The cowboy of the family, he deeply loves rodeo, his community, and honoring the cowboy culture. Always the first to offer help when someone is in need, he also loves his guitar, his horse, and hanging out with his family & buddies.
Caroline
Fourth Daughter
Out of doors every possible minute, she loves singing & dancing, princesses, English movies, and playing with her nieces and nephews. She’s the main housework helper in the Big House.
